• Click OK to save the settings.

Now, perform an update of the virus signature database by clicking Update > Update virus signature database

from the main program window. This will download all necessary ﬁles to the C:\ESET folder and activate the Mirror

server.

7.1.2 Installation of ERA Server

We recommend that you install the ERA Server on the same computer which stores the update Mirror  ﬁles

GHOST, in the example above. During the installation, the license key ﬁle nod.lic must be supplied in order to

provide operation of ERAS for a deﬁned period. After installation, the ERAS service is launched automatically. The

activity of the ERAS service is recorded in the following ﬁle:

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Eset\Eset Remote Administrator\Server\logs\era.log

7.1.3 Installation of ERA Console

Install the ESET Remote Administrator Console to the administrator’s PC/notebook as shown in the lower part

of the picture. If the Console is installed on the same computer as ERAS, the ERAS server name GHOST, in our

example should be automatically inserted into the Console settings. If the Console and ERAS are installed on

dierent computers, click File > Edit Connections... and click the Connection tab. Click the Add/Remove... button

to add the ERA Server name.

7.1.4 Remote install on workstations present in the network

Supposing that all workstations are turned on, the push installation method is the most eective method. Before

starting a push install, you must ﬁrst download the .msi install ﬁles for ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD

Antivirus from ESET’s web site. After this has been accomplished, follow the steps below:

• Open the ERA Console and connect to the ERAS server GHOST, in our example. On the Remote Install tab, click

the Packages... button.

• Click Add... to display the Create ESET Installation window, and then click the ... button to insert the previously

downloaded .msi install ﬁle.
